Just as with every other day, the morning is the worst part. You wake up, but don't [[open your eyes|Open Eyes]]. The day ahead of you is something to dread and opening your eyes is the first step towards facing them. You want to [[go back to sleep|Sleep]].
You go to back to sleep as you rather stay in bed while your time before death ticks away.
You've lost. [[Retry.|Bed]]
You've decided to fight the voices in your head telling you to dread the day. You open your eyes and the light pouring in from your window forces you to squint. Aching in your bones and the desire to [[yawn|Delays]] reminds you of how tired you are. Your alarm went off a long time ago. You were supposed to [[get out of bed|Awake]] a long time ago.
[[A|School]] The appeal of closing your eyes and allowing yourself to slip off into dreams is strong. You don't want to waste the day at school learning things you will need for a job where you won't accomplish anything. It's pointless.
[[B|Work]] Anything would be better than facing your boss today. You can go to work tomorrow. If you would go today, it would only mean the further degradation of your will.
You are finished getting ready for the day. Personal hygiene is at an all time high and your skin is covered in your favorite apparel.
But you have [[nothing to do|Nothing]], as you don't have a job or anywhere else to be.
You could go for a [[calming walk|Walk]] to think about your life. Or maybe [[looking for a job|Search]] would be a better way to spend your time?

[A text-based adventure game by Justin Bruystens]{.start}
[I made this game as a representation of my thoughts on depression. I made this game with the hope to spread awareness on depression as a real issue and encourage people to care. Maybe even encourage a couple people to care enough to [[donate|http://supportit.neocities.org/index.html]].]{.start}

You decided on the degree because you thought it would be interesting, but your classes aren't any more interesting than what you had in high school. Excitement to learn died within the first month.
[[Think about changing degrees. |Change.]]
[[Look for a job. |Search]]
[[Go to school. |Schoolio]]
Work sucks, but you need the money and you can't afford to get fired from another job. [[Go to work|Going]] and deal with your boss and co-workers or [[stay home|Going1]] and avoid everything.
You feel you don't have to do anything. This decision eats you up on the inside for the rest of the day. The next day you wake up with less motivation to start the day then the last.
Nothing.
You lose.
[[Retry.|Bed]]
Fresh air does you good, thoguh it's scary to leave your house and walk around aimlessly alone. While walking you think about all the things you could be doing and how the internet offers itself as a tool to learn almost anything. [[But what do you want?|Uncertainty]]
You turn on your computer, sit in front of it, and open up a website filled with ads from local businessess. Not leaving it a second to load, you decide to open up Facebook in the meantime. There is nothing interesting on Facebook so you start a video on You Tube. From video to video you leap, eventually ending up on Reddit. Your belly growls as breakfast was skipped and the afternoon has arrived.
You think:
[[Time to cook.|Lunch]]
[[I should apply to at least on job before I eat.|Lunch]]
[[I should go out and get something to eat.|Lunch]]
Before you get up from the comfort of your chair you decide to check if there is something new on Netflix. Your favorite show has new episodes, you decide to watch one. Many hours later you've finished the season. The craving for more is there, but there are no more episodes to watch. Lunch was missed, dinner has come, [[but you don't feel motivated enough to cook|Motivation]].
A fairly cheap restaurant is in [[walking distance|CheapRestaurant]] which you've never been too. Alternatively you could go to an expensive, but amazing place which is only a [[short drive away|ExpensiveRestaurant]]. You know they have good food there as you went there with your ex. When you think about it you are tired though, so maybe it's time to [[call it a night|Slipe]].
You're unhappy with your decision. However, you feel [[there is no other choice|Job]].
You're unhappy with your decision. However, you feel [[there is no other choice|Home]].
You go to work reluctantly. Once there you feel anywhere other than inside your own body. People speak, yet you don't hear them. Mr. Fung, the boss, criticizes you every chance he gets. Your co-workers comment that you look like a homeless person and should put more care into what you wear to work. You do your job mindlessly. It's a cycle. Lack of motivation, 9 to 5, not enough will to get a different job, and too little money to move somewhere else or get anything resembling a new start.
You are stuck.

A lot of time was opened up by you not going to work, you decide to:
[[Go for a walk.|Walk]]
[[Look for a new job.|Search]]
It's almost like there is too much potential, too many options. When anything is possible, it is hard to choose to do anything at all. You decide to stop thinking about the future and focus on the day. Your walk comes to a [[stop at a quaint restaurant|CheapRestaurant]].
You think about all the things you used to enjoy doing, but all you've done of late has been things you know you can't study. There is no degree on watching TV or playing video games.
Your interests of old dictate you could try and do a [[Psychology Major|Major]], [[History Major|Major]], or maybe something with [[Math|Major]].
Your too late to class, but no one seems to notice as you quietly move yourself to an aisle seata. The class doesn't manage to hold your interest, however, at the end of it the teacher makes an important announcement about an upcoming test.
[[You're glad you went.|ending1]]
[[You feel it was a huge waste of time and you could have spent your time better. |ending2]]
At the restaurant you stop thinking about much else other than food. They have a wide variety of choices and you take a while to decide what you want. When the food eventually comes you enjoy it, though it seems to dissapear faster than you'd like. You leave a good tip to the waiter and return home. On your trip back home you decide you can work on things again tomorrow.
[[The end.|http://supportit.neocities.org/index.html]]
The drive goes by quick and you spend most of it thinking about your ex. You arrive at the restaurant in a weird mood, but too hungry to do anything besides sit down.
You eat.
You sleep.
You wake up in the morning.
The day goes about the same.
The next day goes about the same.
The day after that isn't much different.
[[The end.|http://supportit.neocities.org/index.html]]
You go to your bed, but find sleep is evading you. With a hole in your stomach it takes you a long time to fall asleep. The next morning you don't want to open your eyes when your alarm goes off.
[[The end.|http://supportit.neocities.org/index.html]]
The rest of the day passes uneventfully and you arrive home satisfied with your day. Sleep comes with ease, though you know the next day it will be just as hard to get out of bed.
[[The end.|http://supportit.neocities.org/index.html]]
The rest of the day passes uneventfully and you arrive home in a bad mood. You stay up late on your computer and fall asleep at your desk.
[[The end.|http://supportit.neocities.org/index.html]]
The rest of the day passes as you recall memories of old and go through the internet looking into various degrees and programs offered by your college. Eventually you decide to go out to meet a friend, but they don't show up. The night ends and you go to sleep determined to change things.
